Ever played Dungeons and Dragons? Early on in character creation, you have to choose a moral alignment. And therein lay my problem. Pick a good one, and you never get to have any fun - or any gold. Pick a bad one, and it's just evilevilevil, which is all fun and games until you kill the wrong person and mess up the plot.

So I stood in the middle. I can do light, and I can do dark. Neither can exist without the other. How can you be a hero with no evil plots to foil? How can you be a villain with no one to drop in the scorpion pit?

Now, I stand in the shadows, seeing both sides, caring about both sides. Thus was born the name Shadow Side - neither Light nor Dark.

But hey, I can do non-philosophical too! This journal once stood as a simple mun journal for some of my RP muses. It is still that. Announcements about RP-related things will still be made here, and if you want to RP with one of my muses, drop by and let me know. My main RP/fic muses are:

There will, however, be more than just RP info here now. I am running this journal in conjunction with my website, which I share with davechicken. Together, we are the Gestalt, a.k.a. penumbris, a fic-writing, stick-wielding, fire-starting, fandom-loving force of indeterminate morality.

This journal will now also host announcements of my new additions to the site - notably, fics and vids - as well as links to the activities of my collection of muses. Feel free to friend me if you're interested in any of this. As I still use this journal's friends page to keep track of muse activities, I may not friend you back, but nothing here will be friends-locked. If you particularly want to talk to the 'real' me, drop me a line and I'll point you to my personal journal.

Also, I am now involved in the fanfic100 challenge, trying to write one hundred fics about Kolya. If you want to follow my progress, go check out my Little Damn Table!

In real life, I'm female, British, and tall. I tend to be online most at nights - often from around 12pm British Time, though this can vary. And I'm *obsessed* with 24. Seriously. There are lists. (Charts coming soon!)
